Japanese Water Therapy, similar to the water therapy in Ayurveda, has been around for a very long time.

Japanese Water Therapy Steps

Here are the steps you need to follow to carry out this therapy:
1. Drink about 3-4 glasses of water once you wake up in the morning. If you can drink around 1 liter of water, it would be great.
2. If you have constipation/digestion issues, drinking water before brushing will help. The micro-organisms in the mouth when you wake up, will get washed into the stomach and
help regularize bowel movements.
3. Don’t drink/eat anything for at least 45 minutes after drinking water.
4. If you cannot drink 3-4 glasses of water at a stretch, you can start with a smaller quantity. You can then drink the remaining amount of water after a gap.
Getting used to this kind of therapy may take sometime, but don’t give up.
Warning on Japanese Water Therapy- Fatal Water Poisoning:
Don’t ever overdo this water therapy. Drinking excess water in a short time duration (~ 3+ liters), can lead to what is known as "Fatal water poisoning". What can be considered as
excessive water depends on factors like age, person’s fitness level, climatic conditions etc.
Too much of a good thing is not good either, and this certainly goes for Japanese Water Therapy as well. You can always try out water therapy and see if it helps you.
